Newspapers

Newspapers are one of the trickier items that productions request (but also how MKO Studio got started), as art department plotters can struggle completing the printing (including reverse sides) on newsprint. MKO Studio has the capabilities to print newspapers on 30lb rolled newsprint (same stock used for most modern-day newspapers), front-and-back, with a water-proof ink that will not run if used for set-dressing or in the rain. MKO Studio can print just one page or as many as you need, with flexibility in between.

For larger quantities, MKO Studio has access to an offset ‘authentic’ newspaper printing press that can print, fold, package, and collate your paper (or ours) if needed. Some limitations apply, and a minimum quantity is needed, but this remains another option as well for period features, or for projects with hero close-ups. All papers are printed in Chicago, IL.

MKO Studio has routinely been tasked with creating vintage and historically accurate newspapers for feature films and television productions and has a wealth of experience, knowledge, and research to fulfill any custom request you may have. Newspaper Printing Services

MKO Studio also has the capability to print your files, as easily as our stock. We’ll send instructions to your art dept if there are questions. We’re happy to print 1 copy, or 1000, whatever you need. For productions in the Chicago area, sometimes, same-day turnaround is possible, but please inquire. Max roll printing size is 24” wide (paper roll size).

Modern Newspapers

These papers have been made using cleared stock imagery (numbers available if your legal department needs them), and using headlines and copy generated by MKO Studio for quick clearance. Newspapers come listed with reverse and insert pages if needed (please reach out and mock-ups can be sent). MKO Studio can quickly change any of the options on these papers, as needed (mastheads, headlines, photos, etc).
